Well, after some thought and discussion with another friend, I have decided to go ahead a give the book about my life (my memoirs as another friend put it) a shot. I am just going to start writing and see where it leads me. It could end up as a published memoir, or just stay completely private. I could change the names, even my own and publish it under an assumed name. Or, I could use my experiences in a fictional work. At minimum, it will give me the opportunity to seriously reflect on my life and where I am today; a spiritual exercise, if you will.
But, to do this I needed some freedom. So, I went during my lunch hour yesterday and bought a wireless router and a digital voice recorder.
“What does one have to with the other?” You ask.
The wireless router gives me the freedom to carry my laptop where ever I go around or outside the house. I get tired of sitting at my desk all of the time, so I can move to my recliner, the kitchen table, or my bedroom. When the weather permits, I love sitting outside. Outdoors is a spiritual connection with nature for me. So, I can take my laptop out to the backyard as I sit under my screened in canopy.
I also get a lot of ideas about a variety of things regardless of where I am or what I am doing; like when I am at work, or driving down the road, pumping gas, whatever. So, the little digital voice recorder can go with me where ever I go, and I can just pop it out and record and save my thoughts for later. Trust me, I have this great idea when sitting on the pot in the morning, for example, and I forget it by the time I get back to the computer…LOL.
So, I guess I am ready to get started. I have a page that I call the “Introduction” that I use as notes, and I am working on my timeline. I simply fill in my timeline with deatils as I remember them. Then, I take it from there. We shall see how this goes.
